NEW ORLEANS - Four members of the Tulane volleyball team were named to the AVCA All-Region Teams as Sara Radosevic, Bridget Wells and Jenn Miller earned First Team honors, while Ksenija Vlaskovic was named Honorable Mention.

"Placing four players on the all region team is a considerable accomplishment for this program. There is not a senior among them, so this is also a very good indicator of the promise this team is showing for future seasons," head coach Liz Kritza said.

Radosevic, a First Team All-Conference USA selection, posts her third-straight AVCA First Team All-Region honor. The junior from Zagreb, Croatia, moved up to second on the Wave's all-time kills list (1,469) this season with 586 kills this season. With her career 5.23 KPG, she could reach Alicia Robertson's (1991-94) career mark (1,963) in 95 more games. She also became Tulane's single-season aces leader and led Tulane with a career-high tying 34 kills in the win at LSU.

"A third consecutive all region honor is very appropriate for a player of Sara's caliber," Kritza commented. "I am confident she will elevate her level of play as she heads into her last off-season and prepares for her last season of collegiate play."

Miller, the 2007 Conference USA Libero of the Year, once again set a new single-season record for digs in a season. After becoming the first Tulane player in history with 500 digs last year (507), she became the first Wave player to hit 600, with 609 in 2007. The sophomore from San Pedro, Calif., was a Second Team All-Conference USA selection after placing second in the league in digs per game at 5.30. She sits fifth all-time at Tulane in digs with 1,116.

Wells earns First Team honors after picking up First Team All-Conference USA accolades. A right side hitter from Raleigh, N.C., she turned in a breakout performance in her junior season, improving her hitting percentage by almost .200 points to finish in the top 10 in Conference USA at .323.

"First Team recognition for Jenn and Bridget is a nice testament to their progress as players. These honors are good recognition of a players' commitment to continually improve and enhance the overall success of their team."

Vlaskovic, a sophomore outside hitter from Pozarevac, Serbia, finished sixth in C-USA in kills per game with 4.41, joining Radosevic among the single-season leaders in kills at Tulane. She earned AVCA All-District Honorable Mention Honors after being named the AVCA Midwest Region Freshman of the Year last year.

"Ksenija's second consecutive honor demonstrates that she continues to compete at a high level and it will no doubt fuel her desire to improve and maximize her playing ability and help this team take another big step in its development."

The Green Wave finished 28-6 overall, 14-2 in Conference USA. Tulane went 5-1 versus the NCAA Tournament field, including a win against LSU the day before Selection Sunday. The Green Wave were tied for fifth in the nation in wins in the regular season and set school records in assists, assists per game, kills, kills per game and hitting percentage.

Also named to the AVCA Midwest District First Team were Kelly-Anne Billingy and Elizabeth Fleming of Marshall, Natalie Bogan of Rice, Shelby Burton of Memphis, Houston's Justine Farmer, Julia Silva from Tulsa, Abbey Breit from Jacksonville State, Leanne Felsing of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Angie Porche from Valparaiso.

Fleming earned Region Freshman of the Year honors, snapping Tulane's streak at two. Radosevic earned the award in 2005, followed by Vlaskovic in 2006.

Also named Honorable Mention were: Amy Benz (Cleveland State, MB, Fr.), Stephanie Cahill (Marshall, OH, Sr.), Karleigh DeLong (Southeast Missouri State, RS/Opp., So.), Brittany Nobilio (Eastern Kentucky, DS/Lib., Sr.), and Mel Snyder (Cleveland State, S, Sr.).
