Meet Drew Allain

Prior to Tulane: Two-year starter at Delgado Community College for coach Joe Scheurmann where he saw time in the outfield and behind the plate...as a freshman, earned first-team All-Region 23 honors after hitting .324 with a .453 slugging percentage on the strength of seven doubles, three triples and a pair of home runs...led the team in steals (11) while scoring 48 runs and posting 28 RBI...hit .313 (105-for-330) as a sophomore with seven doubles, 32 RBI, 47 runs scored and seven stolen bases.

Summer Ball: Played for the Vienna Senators of the Clark Griffith Collegiate Baseball League in 2007...named to All-CGCBL Team after finishing fourth in the league in doubles (10)...ranked second on the team in doubles, tied for fourth in walks (19), and fifth in hits (37) and RBI (26)...hit .356 (37-for-104) with a .481 slugging percentage, a .449 on-base percentage and seven stolen bases...also threw 1.0 inning of scoreless relief with a pair of strikeouts.

High School: Three-year letterman at Holy Cross High for coach Lou Carboni...helped lead the Tigers to a pair of state playoff appearances...earned first-team All-District honors his final three prep seasons and claimed all-metro honors as a senior...for his career, hit .449 with 20 doubles, five triples, three home runs and 54 RBI...scored 60 runs in 62 career games and walked 36 times with just 20 strikeouts in 185 career at-bats...off the diamond, was a member of the National Honor Society and earned Academic All-District honors.

Personal: Born Andrew Paul Allain, Jr., on Aug. 23, 1987 in Chalmette, La...son of Andy Allain and Laura Santos...has one sister, Sydney...father, Andy, played baseball at Southeastern Louisiana...majoring in communications.
